YRI is a faction for the TU Delft Works Council founded in 2023. We aim to support Young Researchers (PhDs, Post Docs, and other early career researchers) by ensuring a safe, fair, and meaningful work environment for all employees.
In the last term, YRI championed and advocated for:
1. Fair employment for international staff, particularly regarding the 30% tax ruling and clarity on contracts.
2. We successfully pushed for increased PhD defense capacity and introduced a modest defense option for urgent cases.
3. YRI also ensured the Rotterdam campus development considered employee impact and financial soundness.
4. We continue to advocate for improved social safety, well-being, and conflict support, especially for PhD candidates.
